I began my relationship with JPs Contracting five years ago when I opened my first franchise (Pure Barre Mt. Lebanon) and again in 2017 when I opened Drybar Pittsburgh. Jeff is extremely easy to work with and takes the time to discuss all aspects of the project before construction begins and keeps you updated with progress reports. I have been thoroughly impressed with the workmanship and professionalism exhibited by Jeff and his entire team. In each interior buildout, JPs provided oversight of subcontractors, coordination with specified equipment provided by the franchisor, and most importantly the flexibility to work with the demands of the borough to make sure we complied with all rules. I can’t say enough about the quality of work; it was perfect. I have used other landlord-dictated contractors in the past and have had issues with the quality of the work. That has NEVER happened with JPs Contracting. I recommend JPs for anyone looking for a first-class construction experience.
When I started my project I interviewed eight different construction companies. My partner and I chose JPs because their bid was reasonable, they listened to us and asked the right questions during the preparation stage, and they came back to us prepared not just with a number (and trust me... I got some emails that were literally just a number) but with all of the details that let us trust that they had really thought the project through. During the project I could not ask for a more professional, communicative, and accessible crew. Everyone from the leadership team down to the workers was responsive, professional, and accountable. Every day I knew who was working on what and was able to see that they were sticking to a clear plan and timeline. Any issues and questions were resolved almost immediately, including all of the little changes I asked for as the project unfolded. There were ZERO SURPRISES. I’ve had the pleasure of working with JPs for the past 5 years, completing several projects with them as both the Area Representative and Multi-Unit Franchisee of European Wax Center in Western Pa. JPs have always been very consistent in their project approach and careful in their planning, management, and organization. And while the process is structured, they were flexible and responsive to my questions and concerns through the many changes along the way. Their expertise in both project management and engineering, often saved me considerable time and effort. We used JPs Contracting to build out the interior of our Gigi’s Cupcakes in McCandless, PA, and I was very happy with the entire relationship. I have built out over a dozen locations, and this was the first time we contracted with JPs Contracting. I was very impressed with their workmanship, communications, understanding of the SBA loan paperwork requirements, and their commitment to the timelines. Whenever there was a question or potential for an issue they communicated with me in a way that was very clear (including pictures) and timely. They provided options and potential solutions. As a small business owner starting a new venture, I wear many hats, and JPs focused on our build out so I could focus on other things that were critical to me getting the business open. They were great to work with and I would recommend them to anyone with similar needs.
We used JPs Contracting for all four of our locations (2 Massage Envy's and 2 EWC's). I HIGHLY recommend them as they were the most professional, organized, extremely communicative, fastest build out schedule, and lowest cost. I have worked with JPs Contracting for just over 20 years, on several hundred commercial projects. Jeff and his staff are wonderful to work with, and they make the process enjoyable. But when it comes down to it, for me to recommend a contractor, being nice is not enough—they must perform at a high level of competency. I can wholeheartedly recommend JPs Contracting for just this reason: they get the job done on time, to a very high level of quality, for a reasonable price. Jeff has completed some extremely complicated renovations and expansions of medical offices that had to be open and operating while the renovation was under way. I have sometimes expected that he hires magic elves, because the work miraculously got done, the nursing staff stayed happy, and the patients barely noticed. I have never known him to miss a construction deadline, and he has had some very tight schedules! The work is always first quality, and he is prompt at wrapping things up, and finishing up those last few items that other contractors sometimes let drag.
