About Us

At the time he founded the company in 1992, Jeffrey Peifer had one goal in mind: to build a company from the ground up that takes pride in its work, to do whatever it takes to get a job done right. More than two decades later, he has not only met that goal, he has exceeded it—and he doesn’t plan on slowing down any time soon. Our company is thriving, our network of loyal subcontractors and vendors continues to grow, and our clients are satisfied and many have become return customers.

Our office is located in West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, where our office staff, Project Managers, consultants, and estimators work diligently day-in and day-out. We also have several qualified carpenters on staff who lend their expertise each day at our job sites. We employ hard-working people in all phases of the business, from management to office staff to laborers—people who are committed to doing superior work for our customers.

 

Meet the Team


Jeffrey Peifer, Founder & President


In 1992 with two decades of construction experience already under his belt, Jeff founded JPs Contracting, Inc based on a client-centered approach, excellent management skills, and a strong work ethic. The company continued to grow because Jeff secured a strong network of loyal subcontractors, employed high quality laborers / carpenters who take pride in their work, and satisfied countless clients who become return customers. Aside from overseeing all operations of the company and maintaining professional relationships with new and established clients, Jeff acts as Project Manager on many projects like the Shepherd's Heart Fellowship renovation in Pittsburgh, the Massage Envy Spa build-out in Mt Lebanon, the Chevrolet Dealership renovation in Latrobe, and more. Today, Jeff's passion for owning his own business and extensive knowledge of the industry continue to shape his company's reputation as a trusted partner with a commitment to excellent service.

Mark Staley


Mark has been in the industry for over 30 years and knew of JPs' excellent reputation, so he jumped at the chance to join the JPs team in 1999. Since then, he has excelled with the company and is now a Project Manager / Estimator. His loyalty to the JPs team, experience in the industry, and problem-solving skills have played an enormous role in his success here. Mark has managed countless construction projects, including build-outs for LINC / ABM in Southpointe, Premier Medical in Forest Hills, and the NSABP Foundation (JPs' largest project to date) in Pittsburgh. When he's not on the job, Mark is busy raising his 5 daughters, coaching their soccer teams, and traveling to different states to compete in tournaments with them.

Jillian Swisher


Before joining the JPs team in 2013, Jillian graduated from St. Francis University with a Bachelor's degree in English / Literature and then from West Virginia University with a Master's degree in Professional Writing and Editing. She has excelled at JPs because of her skills in technical writing, documentation, interpersonal communication, and creative problem solving. Jillian holds down the fort at the JPs office each day, and her primary responsibilities include billing; marketing; assisting project managers and estimators; generating contract packages, construction schedules, contactor agreements, and change orders; and more. Jillian learns more and more about the construction industry each day and takes pride in ensuring JPs's customer experience reaches a maximum level.
